Trim audio online — free & private

SpeakAndRecord's audio cutter lets you trim any audio file directly in your browser using the Web Audio API. Upload your file (MP3, WAV, OGG, WebM, M4A, or any format your browser supports), and the tool decodes the audio, draws the full waveform, and lets you drag to select the exact region you want to keep.

You can fine-tune the start and end points using the number inputs for precise frame-level control, and preview just your selected section before committing to the export. Once you're satisfied, clicking "Cut & Download" renders the selected audio buffer as a high-quality WAV file using OfflineAudioContext — no re-encoding artifacts, no quality loss.

Common uses include removing silence from the beginning of a voice recording, extracting a clip from a podcast, cutting a ringtone from a song, or trimming a sample for a music project. Unlike desktop tools, SpeakAndRecord runs entirely in the browser with no installation.

What audio formats are supported?
Any format your browser's AudioContext can decode — typically MP3, WAV, OGG Vorbis, WebM Opus, and M4A/AAC. FLAC is supported in Chrome and Firefox. WMA is not supported.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Your file is read locally using the FileReader API and decoded in memory by the Web Audio API. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
What format is the exported file?
WAV (PCM 32-bit float). It's lossless and universally compatible. You can convert to MP3 using Audacity, HandBrake, or ffmpeg if a smaller file size is needed.
