SpeakAndRecord is a collection of free, browser-based audio tools built around a single idea: every audio task you need to do should be possible without installing software, creating an account, or sending your voice to a server.
All eight tools run entirely on your device using modern browser APIs — MediaRecorder, Web Audio API, Web Speech API, and getDisplayMedia. When you record, trim, merge, or transcribe audio on SpeakAndRecord, that audio is processed locally by your browser. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
We don't collect your audio. We don't store your transcripts. We don't require an account. Speech recognition and recording run in your browser, and nothing you say or type is sent to us. The only data collected comes from two Google services. Google Analytics 4 measures audience (for example, which pages are visited) and uses cookies to do so. All recording and audio tools work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop. Mobile support is available in Chrome for Android and Safari on iOS. Live speech transcription (speech-to-text, voice notes, audio-to-text) requires Chrome or Edge due to Web Speech API limitations in other browsers. Screen recording requires Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — Safari does not support getDisplayMedia.
